About

Currently a Selfsenior in college pursing an education degree, I am a young woman who has been through a lot. Although I am only 21 I have been chronically ill since I was 8 years old. Coming from a divorced family, half which was abusive, my childhood was filled with struggle. At the age of 8 I was diagnosed with acid reflux after months spent poking and prodding in a diagnosis. Then at age 10 I had my first migraine, which is still an on going battle. By the time I was 16 I was slapped with the diagnosis of POTS, coming after years of unanswered questions and failed tests. Speed up to the present, 5 years later, and the misdiagnosis of POTS has turned into a diagnosis of fibromyalgia. When the dots are finally connected one can finally piece together the fragments of life and put together a cohesive story. These are the fragments that make me, me.

I am a thrifter, photographer, novice makeup junkie, but most of all a fighter. Life has thrown me a hardball every chance it could get, but I believe that strength and perseverance can get you through the darkest of times. I am here to share my story, share my experiences, but most of all inspire readers to know that no matter how hard life gets there is always hope. At the end of the day there is always going to be someone who can relate to what you are going through and share their story. And in their words you can find comfort. That is why I am here, to inspire and support those who have needed to hear those words. By sharing we can keep hope alive and fight another day.

  1. Firstly thank you for following my blog. I hoe you are able to drop by from time to time.
Secondly let me commend you on the bravery and commitment yo show to your illness. I think it is so important to always look forward to see what life brings rather than wallow in the worst possible scenario.
I hope you complete your Education course. Teaching is a wonderful profession to be involved in. I know I used to be one!!

  2. I am enjoying reading your blog! I know exactly how you feel. It’s like you said, every chance life gets, it throws a hardball at you. But somehow we are able to overcome them and fight through them. I especially love the line you wrote “I am a thrifter, photographer, novice makeup junkie, but most of all a fighter.”

  3. You asked for a hand at the community pool, so I hope you don’t mind if I give it here.
With regards to the reader, when you click on some posts, they open in the reader view (which you didn’t like). However, some posts open in a new tab automatically because they have only allowed the reader to show exerts, and as such the reader just goes to the blog page, which is formatted how you want (and brings views). In order to change this, you go to the dashboard, settings, then reading. There, there is a section that says “For each article in a feed, show” which should be at ‘full text’. Tick the ‘summary’ button and now your posts will just open in a new tab.
Hope this is helpful and I’ve explained it clearly, if you have any questions about it please ask. Good luck with your blog, and as was said above, stay strong.
    Best, Matt
